Zero-1 Bag
Lightweight and ergonomic shoulder bag for active and outdoor activities, optimized for airflow and stability&#38;nbsp;
This project was especially rewarding as it combined my hobby with my artistic passion.

Most running and cycling packs tend to come in a backpack or vest form factor nowadays. Part of the inspiration came from bike messenger bags. We wanted to build a pack for the weekend warrior and the day adventurer. We designed it to optimize it for lightweight carry, breathability, and comfortability so the wearer could focus their energy on the physical activity and the scenery.
The highlight of the bag was the use of mesh-bonded perforated EVA foam. This material aided the structure and the breathability, while eliminating the need encase closed cell foam in between two fabrics.&#38;nbsp;

The strap is primarily constructed from spacer mesh for lightweight breathability and padding. It based on a three-point system that’s made up of a curved, ergonomic crossbody strap and a magnetically attached stabilizer strap. Unit Shoulder Sling Bag Collection
Two cross-body shoulder bags for everyday carry offered in various technical fabric and color blocked offerings


For this DSPTCH RND release, we were tasked to create two shoulder bags suitable for a daily excursion in the city. The big focus of this collection was to highlight our new partnership with Challenge Outdoor and use their extensive collection of fabrics and color offerings.We explored unique ways to create volume with a one piece front panel. We ended up with the use of a large pleat that would open up to a tip of a dart to create a 3D triangular shape and enhanced the look of the side profile. On the Unit Shoulder Bag, we were able to hide a concealed zipper pocket inside the large pleat.Another feature of both bags is the extended bumper design that helps wrap the bag around the body. The right bumper that wraps the side of the body doubled as a mounting point for accessories and pouches for modular use.

Unit &#38;amp; Utility Tote Collection


Two totes, one minimal &#38;amp; one utilitarian, recontextualized as “shells” to its contents

For this collection of totes, we were set on developing these bags as mere “shells” that encase our belongings with minimal padding and structure. This way of thinking of bags was highly unusual for DSPTCH since the brand is known for their highly utilitarian and structured bags.
The totes were designed around the Tote Insert, which is a DSPTCH pack organizer that enables you to store a laptop upright in either landscape or portrait orientation. The Tote Insert also acts as a structural support to the bag, and with the weight of the laptop makes it stand and balance upright. We believed that&#38;nbsp;with the use of the Tote Inserts, the full potential of Totes can be achieve.“Unit” was designated to the more bare-bones, stream-lined version of the tote. 
“Utility” was designated to the version with webbing mounting points (for accessories and pouches), which became an important design language for future bag designs.

Minimalist pack that allows for user modularity


As part of RND line that featured less structured minimalist bags, I designed a pack that was stripped of the usual extraneous details while still having an unique aesthetic.The style lines on the bag were carefully placed to maintain harmony and balance between functionality and aesthetics.Striking diagonal style line doesn’t exist just as the main entry point into the bag.
Posterior panels act as zipper guards for increased weather resistance, while side webbing mounts allow for user to attach pouches and accessories of their choosing.The large, open main compartment also allows for the user to use other organizational add-ons, such as the Tote Inserts and Camera Inserts.

As a later redesigned version, a 3D zipper pocket was added to the front panel as a quick access pocket.

Juxtaposition and re-contextualization at play; an everyday tote constructed from Dyneema Composite Fabric that takes form of a disposable grocery bag.


As part of our first product release for synthesis, I was asked to develop an ultra-high strength, reusable grocery bag, using Dyneema Composite Fabric. The gussets and bonded seams of a grocery bag were mimicked by using pleats and french seam finishes. To round out the details, the strap was made with hand-spliced Dyneema rope, metal snap hooks, and a high-end separating metal zipper as a closure.

Synthesis’ ar+ifact line consists of vintage military pieces re-worked with the addition of zippers, pockets, sleeves, and new functioanlities.For the first collection of ar+ifact pieces, we explored themes of transformation, articulation, and expansion.
Each military reference was deconstructed and put back together with the addition of modern functionality.
