Lightweight and ergonomic shoulder bag for active and outdoor activities, optimized for airflow and stability
This project was especially rewarding as it combined my hobby with my artistic passion.
Most running and cycling packs tend to come in a backpack or vest form factor nowadays. Part of the inspiration came from bike messenger bags. We wanted to build a pack for the weekend warrior and the day adventurer. We designed it to optimize it for lightweight carry, breathability, and comfortability so the wearer could focus their energy on the physical activity and the scenery.
The highlight of the bag was the use of mesh-bonded perforated EVA foam. This material aided the structure and the breathability, while eliminating the need encase closed cell foam in between two fabrics.
The strap is primarily constructed from spacer mesh for lightweight breathability and padding. It based on a three-point system that’s made up of a curved, ergonomic crossbody strap and a magnetically attached stabilizer strap. The strap also features full adjustability and easy detachment.
